Sandakphu is a difficult day journey from gurdum, its 11 km a long way from gurdum and take 5 to 6 hrs. Sirikhola is another village which is near gurdum for day investigation. Bird watching should be possible in gurdum because of thick timberland around. One can invest very energy in stream side of gurdum.

Take a train to NJP Railroad Station.From Njp rail line station take a common taxi and drive to rimbik. From rimbik 45 minutes drive till sirikhola then an hour journey to gurdum from sirikhola.
